Can Lightweight Insulation Bricks and Clay Bricks be Confused?

Date:2019-12-06 15:56 | From:Zhengzhou Sunrise Refractory | Author:admin
Lightweight thermal insulation bricks are generally divided into two categories according to the use temperature, bulk density and product shape.
(1) Classified by body volume density. Bulk density is 0.4 ~ 1.3g / cm3 is light brick; less than 0.4g / cm3 is ultra light brick.
(2) Classified by use temperature. The use temperature is 600 ~ 900 ℃ for low-temperature light brick; 900 ~ 120 ℃ is for medium-temperature light brick; those over 1200 ℃ are high-temperature light brick.

Clay bricks are also called clay bricks. Clay bricks are ordinary refractory bricks with a light brownish yellow or yellow appearance. They are widely used in the construction of various metallurgical furnaces and other industrial furnaces, as well as in the construction of auxiliary equipment such as chimneys and flues. Clay bricks are cheaper.

So, can lightweight insulation bricks and clay bricks be confused? Sunrise Refractories Group will analyze it in detail for everyone.

Lightweight thermal insulation bricks only contain lightweight clay bricks, not clay bricks. According to the materials used, the thermal insulation products mainly include light clay bricks, light high alumina bricks, light silicon bricks and so on.
There are three main methods of producing light refractory bricks:
(1) Combustible additive method, that is, adding combustible materials such as wood chips or coke powder to the ingredients. When the combustible materials are burned during the firing process of the brick, a large number of pores are left in the brick. This is the most commonly used ways;
(2) Foam method, that is, adding foaming agents such as rosin soap to the ingredients, and then firing the porous product;
(3) Chemical method. Adding a certain substance to the ingredients can produce a foaming chemical reaction. For example, dolomite or periclase is added with gypsum, and dilute sulfuric acid is used as a foaming agent to generate a large amount of material. It is immediately cast into shape and dried and fired.

Lightweight insulation brick has the following characteristics:
The use of lightweight thermal insulation bricks with low thermal conductivity and small thermal capacity as the structural material of the furnace body can save fuel consumption; improve equipment production efficiency; also reduce the weight of the furnace body, simplify the structure of the kiln, improve product quality, and reduce the ambient temperature. Improve working conditions. Lightweight thermal insulation bricks are mostly used as insulation, lining or insulation for kiln.

Sunrise Refractories Group provides the production and sales of refractory materials such as lightweight insulation bricks and clay bricks. It also provides technical guidance for kiln construction, renovation, maintenance, and refractory selection. Provide one-stop service.
