What is Mullite Insulation Brick
Date:2015-12-09 19:32 | From:Zhengzhou Sunrise Refractory | Author:admin
Mullite insulation brick is a kind of high alumina refractory mainly made from good quality and pure raw materials.
In generally, alumina accounts 50%-85% in the mullite insulation brick. Besides mullite, there are also glass phase and christobalite as well as corundum which are good grade fillings.
It is made of high-quality high-purity refractory powders with addition of organic compound fillers by vacuum extrusion molding and high temperature sintering.
Due to its excellent high temperature mechanical properties and chemical stability, it has high temperature strength, high temperature creep resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient, strong resistance to chemical attack and good thermal shock resistance. It can work as the furnace lining in direct contact with the flame and significantly improve the energy-saving effect of the furnace.
Mullite Insulation Brick has low thermal conductivity and good heat insulation. It can save heat and energy. It has low impurity content and high temperature resistance. Higher alumina content ensures good performance. It can be customized shapes to reduce bricks quantity and cost. It has dense, compact and accurate structure and low porosity rate. It has high loading temperature and good corrosion resistance.
Mullite insulation brick are widely used for lining in high temperature kilns such as shuttle kiln, roller kiln, glass kiln and petroleum kilns. According to the Al2o3 content and bulk density, it can be used with 1350-1650℃.
